很多来福州的人，都首选去三坊七巷走一走，触摸它在这座城市2200多年历史中的文脉印记。

沿着青石板路前行，人们领略着坊巷起于晋、成于唐宋、鼎盛于明清时期的古韵悠长；走进严复、林觉民等名人故居，与近代风云中的仁人志士隔空对话；聆听闽剧婉转唱腔、观摩福州脱胎漆器制作、品尝茉莉花茶，沉浸式感受闽都文化的烟火气息。

二十世纪八九十年代，在城市开发热潮的冲击中，三坊七巷一度岌岌可危。时任福州市委书记习近平在会上一锤定音，保护了这片历史街区。

张雨璇告诉游客，福州人一直感念着习近平总书记，“如果没有总书记的保护支持，三坊七巷早已不在了！”

2021年3月，习近平总书记在福州三坊七巷考察时强调，保护好传统街区，保护好古建筑，保护好文物，就是保存了城市的历史和文脉。“对待古建筑、老宅子、老街区要有珍爱之心、尊崇之心。”

声声叮嘱，语重心长。近年来，三坊七巷按照“修旧如旧，保持总体坊巷格局、风格、风貌不变”的原则和“镶牙式、渐进式、微循环、小规模、不间断”的步骤组织实施修缮，累计修复古厝300多处，总面积达27万平方米。严复故居、林觉民·冰心故居等名人展馆展陈持续优化升级，沈葆桢故居、吴石旧居布展完成提升，名人文化展示内容不断丰富。三坊七巷也成为住建部首批城市更新典型案例。

2021年至2025年，三坊七巷历史文化街区累计接待游客超1亿人次，2025年街区人流量超2600万人次。

“路过的游客问我，三坊七巷怎么能保护得这么好，我都会告诉他们，这得益于总书记的高瞻远瞩和文化情怀。”仍住在三坊七巷、76岁的文化讲解志愿者陈永健说，“保护了三坊七巷，就留住了我们的乡愁。”

每逢节假日，位于汕头小公园开埠区国平路的潮汕文艺人才一条街总是热闹非凡。

骑楼檐下，木雕、嵌瓷、抽纱等多间大师工作室里，不时传来交流讲解声。有人看木雕艺人执刀落木，在一凿一刻间雕琢人物花鸟、亭台楼阁；有人细赏嵌瓷、抽纱等传统技艺，在方寸间感受潮汕工艺的精巧。
