在国新办近期举行的“新征程上的奋斗者”中外记者见面会上，上海市崇明东滩自然保护区管理事务中心主任钮栋梁展示了一张照片：滩涂上各色鸟儿翩跹起舞，怡然自得。但这片区域却曾经被互花米草占据，难觅鸟类踪影。

2013年，崇明东滩生态修复项目启动。当地一手“做减法”，治理互花米草2.5万余亩；一手“做加法”，通过建设“生态浮岛”等，为鸟类提供稳定优质的栖息空间。

循着习近平总书记指引的方向，“十四五”时期，我国组织实施生物多样性保护工程、重要生态系统保护和修复重大工程、山水林田湖草沙一体化保护和修复工程等一批标志性工程，完成国土绿化3660万公顷、生态保护修复超540万公顷。
